Scarlett's Cat Sanctuary & Furry Friends Pet Recovery Adoption Process

Ready to Adopt?

Please select one of the options below

Our adoption process is a bit different from other rescues. We have steps in place that many others do not have including reviewing our Adoption Guide, viewing our educational videos, and/or placing deposits down to hold a kitten or a cat.

We want to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with the cat that you adopt and also that the cat is going to a safe, loving home.

What you can expect during the Adoption Process

  1. Begin by clicking on the I'm Ready button below and you will be taken to the Cat Survey form as well as the Adoption Application to complete

    1. Since there are many instances where we have multiple applications coming in at the same time for the same cats, we ask for at least a 50% deposit of the Adoption Fee (listed below) to hold the cat for you. This deposit is 100% refundable, should the adoption not go through for any reason.

  2. Upon completion of the Adoption Application, you will receive 2 emails: One email will contain a copy of your filled out application for your records and the other email will contain a link to the Adoption Guide

  3. After you acknowledge that you have reviewed the Adoption Guide, you will receive an email with instructions and links to our Adoption Education videos. The videos that you will be required to watch will be based on the following:

    1. The age of the cat/kitten you are adopting

    2. Whether or not you currently have cats, dogs, and/or children in the household

    3. If you are a new pet parent and have never adopted / owned a pet before

  4. When you are finished viewing all of the required videos and read through any required articles, you will need to refer back to the email with all of the video links and click on the link for the Video Education Acknowledgement that you will need to sign

  5. The rescue will be automatically notified that you have completed all of the above steps once you sign the Video Education Acknowledgement form. They will then reach out to you to setup a meet and greet with the cat/kitten that you are adopting.

  6. Finally, the last step of the "paperwork" process is to complete the Adoption Agreement and pay any outstanding balance for the Adoption Fee

  7. Final step - Going Home - The rescue will work with you to setup a time to pick up or deliver your new family member. Your new cat/kitten will be sent home with the following items:

    1. Favorite blanket or toy

    2. A small back of current dry food

    3. A few cans of current wet food (if needed)

    4. Small back of Dinovite, FortiFlora, or GI Probiotics (if needed and depending on the cat's needs)
